Wanna hear something weird?

I'm doing a takeoff on this project, which means I'm taking quantities of everything (from asphalt to fencing to storm pipes, you name it) to come up with a cost estimate, after which the bond amount will be determined. ANYWAY, so I'm finding these lengths of fence, and they're already in cad so I just click on them and hit "List" and it tells me all sorts of properties about the line, including length. Here are the three lengths of silt fence in this section:

484 + 373 + 474 = 1331

Holy palindrome!

Goodness gracious! Me and Ben and Eric Zino used to live with this guy, John, and he was really into palindromes, and whenever he'd see/hear one, he'd exclaim to everybody, "Happy palindrome!" That one would've just about killed him, I bet.

Years later we found out John was gay.

Also one time I was finding areas, and one area turned out to be 54,321 square feet.

Dude,

133 + 199 + 999 = 1331

Also, I hate myself. I don't know why I looked at " = 1331" and thought "there has to be a set of three numbers that can make 1331 while remaining an overall palindrome.

Maybe there's some dumb math trick to determine that, but I just brute-forced it. Why? WHY DID I WASTE MY TIME?

I LOVE PALINDROMES!!!!!
thank you very much for sharing! you have made me happy with your palindromic windfall.

here's a ridiculous math trick i learned from watching Square One:

take any number, multiply by 9.
add the result's individual numbers together, and it will (eventually) equal 9.

Example:

43579 x 9 = 392211
3 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 18
1 + 8 = 9

go ahead, try it at home under adult supervision. then come pelt me with rocks for my nerdiness.
