Happy Ides of March, everyone! Here's to not being assassinated.

I may not be around much today because I am going out into the fierld! It's supposed to go up to seventy-two degrees today! And this time I am more prepared in that I put my hair into adorable leetle pigtails, and in addition I brought a red kerchief. To keep the ticks out of my hair.

A whole day of hugging trees! Hurrah.

What the fuck?! Is this normal? It's 38 here and will probably snow tonight (well, says the weatherman, who knows if we can trust that asshole).

At least I can take solace in the fact that in August, when it's 80 degrees here and perfect, people on the east coast will be dropping like flies from heat exhaustion.

PS - Eric, it's snowing in Everett. No joke. And moving southward.

in April of '99, at thepass between Yakima and Seattle, it snowed (I think) 16 feet out there the day we flew out for my friends wedding.

IN APRIL?!!! What the heck? You all got some wacky weather out there.
(and yes,I'm jealous)

No, no, of course it's not normal. Usually we get a pretty regular amount of snow, and there is generally snow on the ground from mid-December/January until early/mid March. We get our snow storms in February and March.

But THIS winter -- aren't you having a fucked-up-in-some-way-winter, too? Isn't everybody? -- I believe we've had just three snowfalls, the third coming yesterday, yes that's right yesterday, just two days after it was seventy-two. (And the second snowfall didn't stick, and the first did, but then it was warm the next day and melted). It was coming down pretty hard for an hour or so, too, but it only stuck on the grass and cars, and some time last evening it turned to rain and has been raining ever since. Which is good, because we're in an awful drought emergency over here and we need it BAD.

So yeah, this is the third-warmest winter on record and as qed said, it'll be raining frogs next, and then maybe locusts or something. The moon turning to blood, cats and dogs living together, stuff like that.
