Live this Wednesday: Manning and the Potato Volcano!

Holy Crap. I made baked potato soup last night, and if I do say so myself, it was freaking good. It was also THICK, and REALLY REALLY BAD FOR YOU. The only things in it that aren't bad for you are the potatoes and the green onions. Everything else: milk, sour cream, bacon, cheddar cheese, lots of salt, margerine . . . mmm. So good. So heavy. So thick. Leftovers. Oh, and once again? I used my wok. I don't think I've cooked without using my wok, since I've owned it. The Chinese are freaking geniuses.

Mitch said I wasn't allowed to ever make it again, it was so bad for us. Then he said I had to make it again, because it was so good.

And for dessert, Kelly's exquisite key lime pie. Nice that it was so light and limey, after such a thick dinner. Better, I will admit, than my key lime pie, so I'll stick to other desserts.

Oh man. I have found a new love: eating. No, no, I've always loved eating. But seriously. I wish one could eat and it wouldn't count. I mean I guess everybody wishes that. Potatoes. I love potatoes. Potatoes, and cheese, and bacon? Thick like lava. Pronounced "lah-vuh". From a volcano. A potato volcano. Potato volcano. That would be a good name for a band.

Oh, and one of the other nice things about making dinner last night? I didn't measure everything. Some things, but not everything. And I made adjustments. It said 14 cups of milk, but I think I only put in around nine. Which of course added to the thickness, which I may have already mentioned. And I made everyone help, because I was running late, as always. You know what always gets me? Prep time. Once things are going it's cool, but prep time is a bitch. I made Manning measure, and fetch things. Kelly too, and Mitch. They all did excellent jobs. I need a chef's hat.
