Speaking of dinosaurs, today on the way in to work I was listening to the news. They were talking about how some lawmakers in Harrisburg are voting on the Pennsylvania State Dinosaur, which was a plant-eater and the size of a dog. Or something. Apparently ten or so states already have official State Dinosaurs, including New Jersey. They mentioned this fact, and then they had some dino-dude saying how it came from Haddonfield (!), and then that's it. They didn't mention the name of New Jersey's Official State Dinosaur. Hello! Would it be that much trouble? We always get the fucking shaft, man. But at least KYW has a South Jersey Bureau (Ed Kasuba reporting); we get even less respect from the New York radio and TV stations. As though the reporters don't all live in New Jersey. Along with all the New York/Philly sports players.

It's either the Hadrosaur (named for Haddonfield), or one of the species of Hadrosaur. It was actually the first complete dinosaur skeleton found in America. I learned that when I was a kid. I'm a big fan of dinosaurs, AND New Jersey, and that fact makes me damn proud.

Hey, look.

Okay, I just learned, it's called Hadrosaurus foulkii, and it's actually the first nearly-complete dinosaur skeleton found in the world.

I also forgot to mention that I saw that skeleton on display in a library in Haddonfield when I was a little kid. Neato.

WOO-HOO! Yay, New Jersey!

See, that was interesting. I'm so disappointed in KYW. Thank goodness for Manning.

I was gonna guess that. Honest. I'm a dinosaur buff from waaaay back. But, then, all boys were, I guess.
