I'm swamped at work.

Remind me to write about Christmas trees. I got mine last night!

Also remind me to talk about delegating things, and being a manager and whatnot. Telling people what to do. I've never really done it before, it's interesting. It's also frustrating when I ask someone to do something and they don't listen to my instructions, or they take too long to get it done. I don't want to be the naggy annoying boss! But man, I also gotta get my shit DONE, y'know? It's tough. It's something I'll have to get used to, something I'll have to learn how to do. Interesting.

Hmm, you know what, I wish I had a mentor. Someone to ask about this sort of thing . . . maybe I'll ask my old boss Bruce if he'll serve in that sort of role, I'm sure he'll jump at the chance. I need a voice of experience.

Washu out! Have a lovely December Wednesday! ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT TIL MARY CRISMAS BOYEEEEEEE!

Hey, I'll be your mentor! Go on, toss a management question at me. I will rule with a just -- BUT FIRM! -- hand.

Pff, you're a CARTOONER! What do YOU know about management?

Well, okay, TECHNICALLY, nothing. But I know lots about petty tyranny! And I've seen "The Godfather, part 2" at least three times.

"Cartooner" sounds German, somehow.

Since my degree program isn't actually Computer Science, it's Computing and Software Systems, it's more geared towards putting you into the computer industry workforce, and they make you take all sorts of other stuff that is about the less technical aspects of computer science. One of the classes I had to take was called Management for Computing Professionals, and we learned all about the theories of how you motivate people and manage effectively.

I think, in retrospect, it was a very good class to have taken. It's too bad that the class was taught by Bill (n)Erdly, and that I forgot everything I learned about two clock cycles after the final exam.
