Ha ha, man, look at this guy! He's enraged that the weathermen were wrong. Man, I sure do think it's stupid when people complain about how the weather people get it wrong. Like they're SO STUPID or something. Like it's not the inherent unpredictability of weather, it's just that they're not trying hard enough.

Man, I also think it's stupid when people point out that December 25th was a pagan holiday, and therefore Christmas yadda yadda yadda. Heck, I don't even know the point they're trying to make. So Jesus was born in April; so what? How is that relevant? It's the celebration of his birth. Does it really matter that's it's not on the anniversary of his birth? Man, that was like two thousand years ago, what's a few months? It's the thought that counts. If people decided to celebrate MY birthday every day for the next few millennia, I don't think I would mind much if they had it be on, say, October 31st, to capitalize on all the Halloween fervor. I don't mind! For future reference, I don't mind!

Ha. Man, I hope I don't sound complainy and bitchy, cuz that's not how I'm feeling. It's more of a . . . rolling of the eyes whilst smiling and shaking my head and then walking away to talk to smart people. I mean, you know, people are stupid! And I guess will continue to be stupid in the same ways, forever.

So hey everybody, it's the last day of two -- oh oh -- two! Are you excited or what?

Hey, don't tell anybody, but the skirt I'm wearing tonight? It's the same skirt I wore for New Ear's 2000. Pff, who cares, am I right? That was THREE years ago! And I haven't gotten to wear the damn thing since! And it makes me feel like a princess! So fuckit! Boys don't remember stuff like that anyway, and the girls are my friends. So we're all good. And I bought a new top, so there.

Oh so hey you guys -- remember how I was in a Fantasy Football League? Well guess what? I AM THE WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION. Hooray! I win! Oh man, I would have said that if I had, say, bought an awesome shirt or something, "I win," but in this case it's actually applicable! I win! Ha, man, remember when we had the draft? The title of that post is "Alexander Shaun, don't let me down." Dude, his name is Shaun Alexander. HA! That seems ridiculous to me now. Man, being in that league freaking ruled. There were fourteen teams, four of us were girls. I was in last place for a long time, and Kelly was in last place for a LONG time -- she started out the season 0-5, I think. And then? ALL four girls made it to the playoffs, and it was me and Kelly in the final round. Hooray for girls paying attention and also luck helps a lot! Hooray! Man, we're also the awesome girls that actually watch football, too. Hardcore and whatnot. I learned a LOT about football and I'm better at paying attention to it and I totally appreciate blocking. I never appreciated blocking before because that's not where the ball is, but man, blocking! Blocking rules. Without blocking, you couldn't go anywhere. Seriously. Blocking is my favorite part of football, now.

I sucked a fat one at my football pool at work, though. I played every week and didn't win ONCE. And I had the worst percentage. Man. Oh well. Can't win 'em all, I guess! I'll be entering the Super Bowl fill-in-the-boxes thingie, of course. And I may go to Wing Bowl this year! I have yet to go, I had intentions of going a couple times, but things came up, but this year everything's cool and there's an after-party at Delilah's, yo.

Oh man, and playoff season! It's so sad that it's all almost over, though. So sad. And football looks great on my new big tv! Man, that's what big tv's are for, video games and sports. I'll tell you what. And DVD's too, I guess, but I don't have a DVDer. I do have a DVD, though! My mom bought my brother and I each Dress to Kill DVD's. So I have to get a DVDer. I love saying "DVDer", can you tell?

So what are you doing tonight? For the hollyday?

OH P.S. I remembered today that I had forgotten the awesomest part of all regarding the Christmas Day snow -- the first time I walked out of my parents' house? To see the snow? Swear to goodness, there were church bells playing. "Silent Night" or some shit. Man, that shit was movie, yo. To walk outside and have it be dark and snowing and churchbelling.

I dunno, I think being able to really understand and enjoy a football game is kind of impressive, particularly since most girls don't grow up watching the game. I don't know if most people would list watching football and winning a fantasy league as one of Washu's top ten accomplishments in life, but it definitely show some extra-dimensionality.

Of course, I also came in 10th out of 13 in the same league, so I may place a little more importance on it than is actually warranted.

Wow, I hadn't! That IS terrifying! What an angry, anti-everything guy.

What cracks me up is that virtually his entire journal is quiz results. I mean, for a guy who has such strong opinions, he doesn't bother to talk about them much. His entire commentary on the Trent Lott issue seems to be I'm also quite happy Lott stepped down as Majority Leader tacked on to the end of a What's YOUR Sexual Fetish? quiz. C'mon, guy! If you're going to be crazy and psycho and have ideals almost completely opposite to mine, at least RANT a little so that I can be entertained! Sheesh.

probably not intelligent enough to actually feel strongly about and be able to argue for his viewpoints. again, i m thinking the poker is a good idea.

Man, and I specifically remember paying attention to the order because he has two first names. I guess I screwed it up in the end after all!

*resists making derogatory comments about football*

That Eddie Izzard special is awesome. I caught it on HBO when it first came out a couple times and thought it was really good, and just recently got the DVD, which has a lot more excellent content. Very worth having. Also, if get a PS2 or X-Box to play games on the new TV, they can also double as... "DVDer"s. Of course, if you get an X-Box, the nazis at Microsoft require you to buy a special remote control to unlock the DVD capabilities of the unit, which I think is horseshit personally...

*good, because that would have been quite rude*

I have a bootlegged copy of DTK that I bought offa eBay; I'll probably keep it until I get a DVDer. Then I'll give it away. And man, I'll forgive you for TOTALLY INSULTING MY VIDEO GAME INTELLIGENCE and simply thank you for the advice. But I won't be purchasing a new console any time soon. That's why my mom bought me a DVD, though (it didn't come out at all on VHS, isn't that interesting?), because she figured one of my systems would be able to play them.

A thousand apologies, milady. I get so used to most people knowing absolutely nothing about video games that I start assuming that no one does, which is admittedly bad policy.

Dude, I give you guys insane props for understanding football. There is a lot to it, like any sport, and I think if you haven't grown up playing it, it's harder to understand. Like a foreign language, but to a lesser extent, of course. Chris and I spent a good deal of time last night going over what a "wild card" game was and why they do it, and I just couldn't understand WHY some teams get a "buy". I mean, just because they are good? Why do the teams that are NOT as good have to play more games while the better teams get to rest and not risk injury to players? Shouldn't the poorer team have the advantage of rest so that the odds even out? Chris kept saying "they earned it", but I thought it was dumb. I just didn't get it. Finally, Chris just gave up and said "That's JUST the way it is." In a very "if-you-don't-stop-I-am-going-to-stop-teaching you about football" voice.

he was dead on with "they earned it," though. the bye was instituted not to level the playing field, but to reward the teams that are the best. it also serves to provide an incentive for the best teams to keep fielding their best players until the bitter end of the season, thus allowing the nfl to ensure, as much as possible, a higher number of quality games for television.

It also provides a lot more incentive for regular-season games. Otherwise it would be like basketball or hockey, where alll the teams play dozens of absolutely meaningless regular season games for 8 months, and nothing matters until the playoffs.
