The Beginning Stages of My Mounting Rage

I'd like to give a big shout-out F U to the Polyphonic Spree. They canceled their gig back in September -- the one, as you may recall, which was to be held at the First Unitarian Church, up in the actual church part, with a maximum capacity of (guessing here) 1,000 (probably closer to 300, I'm being generous) -- because one of the members had a family emergency. They promised they would be back in December. Dude from R5 Productions claimed that there was such a fantastic surprise planned, we wouldn't mind the delay. We didn't hear from them. Then sometime at the beginning of the year, R5 said they'd be announcing a show in March. Nothing came of that.

Well, I checked the site today, and the 'Spree are indeed coming to Philadelphia at the end of the month.

They are opening for David motherfucking Bowie.

At the fucking Wachovia Center.

30,000 people (more?) > 1,000 people.

$58 > $12.

Fuck you, Polyphonic Spree. Fuck you up your white fucking robes. I don't care if you want to play these sorts of venues -- OH WAIT YES I DO -- but even so, the least you could do is come back and play the fucking show you canceled TWICE (they were originally supposed to play in like MAY of 2003).

I am so freaking pissed. The only way they can make it up to me would be if they were to play Bonnaroo and only then at one of the tents, but they're probably too busy playing with David motherfucking Bowie, and I'm pulling that whole scenario out of my lily-white ass anyhow.

(Psst, tell me how they are, Schtune.)
