Elvis in a pink tie

Hey, did you see Elvis Costello on Letterman last night? He performed a song from his new album, with Steve Nieve accompanying him on pinano. That man is adorable (Elvis Costello). He moved his hands around in the most adorable way when he sang. And he sang in the most adorable way. It sounded as though, on the album, there were overlapping vocal tracks, not a lot but just enough so that he had to squeeze a breath in and was a smidge late starting the next line. Or maybe not? Maybe that's the way he wrote it. [I remember him saying once on Ask Elvis that he doesn't like to do layered vocals because then he can't perform them accurately live.] Doesn't matter. It all equaled Adorable.

And he was wearing a pink tie. And when Dave asked him about his fianceé and where they met, he said at the Grammies last year, and then Dave said something else about maybe falling in love right away or something? And Elvis looked a mite uncomfortable maybe and just said that he was a very lucky man.

Man, and I went to SUCH LENGTHS in my non-erotic fan fiction to get around the fact that the jerkoff was married. For no reason! Jerk off! And yet so very, very charming.

Steve Nieve was wearing a scarf, I think.

OH and one of the times they went to commercial, the band played "The Battle of Who Could Care Less" which is by the Ben Folds Five and that was awesome.

I got to sit outside in the parking lot today for a couple hours, testing out our GPS systems to make sure they were transmitting properly. It was beautiful outside, not a cloud in the sky. I prefer a few white fluffy ones m'self, but man, nothing but blue, that's a sight.

There were carpet men putting new carpet into an office on the first floor of the building, the office to which we will be moving eventually. I watched a guy measure out 96" lengths of carpet, so if you want a large roll of carpet to be cut into particular lengths, let me know, I am well-versed in a very efficient way to do such a thing.

I'm going to go make tacos for seventeen (17) people now. Life is good!
