Man, so it turns out that I am SICK!  Can you believe that?  My throat hurt on Sunday but I attributed it to singing in the car at the top of my lungs for two hours.  Turns out I was coming down with a cold.  My head feels weird, and my eyes feel raw.  It sort of sucks, but I'm very very very grateful I didn't have a stuffed head on the plane, because that's just about the worst kind of torture there is.  But man, seriously, I'm very sick.  I should stay home from work.

I updated my Photo du Jour page last night, so if you would like to see a picture a day of Ireland, they're August 14th through the 21st.  Here's the one from the nineteenth:

Oh and I saw Kill Bill Vol. II last night and it was totally awesome.

shamrocks & shenanigans
what is the difference between a shamrock & a clover? is it that one has the heart-shaped leaves & t'other has roundies? do they both come in three- and four-leaf varieties? which are luckier? please advise.

also, please tell me you at least took a PICTURE of someone drinking a guinness...

Re: shamrocks & shenanigans
According to my moms, yeah, a shamrock is a shamrock because the leaves are shaped like hearts. She "found" one in Ireland but then forgot where it was and was pretending to get all upset and I said big deal, I found one at 508 a few weeks ago whilst I was sitting around watching wiffle ball. They are both three-leafers, which is why a four-leaf is so rare.

Why would I take a picture of someone drinking a Guiness? I meant to drink one whilst in Ireland -- specifically so that you wouldn't yell at me, actually -- but I forgot. I understand that Guiness tastes better in Ireland, but I don't *like* Guiness, so I guess I don't see the point in me drinking it. I wouldn't appreciate it, and it would be a waste of stout.

I bought a magnet, though, how's that?

i dunno, i was hoping for some sort of sense memory thing that would allow me to experience the recalled taste of irish guinness upon looking at it.

thank you, answer lady
okay, so wait, are shamrocks a different plant altogether? are the 2 related? are shamrocks just mutant clovers?

also, is there a difference between spiderwebs & cobwebs? in this context, what is a cob? and man, don't you hate when cobwebs get on you? i know i do.
