Oh my god I am so angry I want to scream and cry and punch someone all at once.  First I screwed up my Firefox profile, so that all of my bookmarks are missing (can someone please please please tell me a way to get the Profile Manager to run that doesn't involve typing something into the Run dialog, what is this, nineteen ninety six?).  And you know what, I just searched for the bookmarks file and it's gone.  You have got to be goddamned fucking kidding me.  I cannot fucking believe this, gone, they are all gone, just gone, just like that?  I hate life.

And then in AutoCAD my cursor was not snapping correctly, it was not grabbing endpoints and such and if it doesn't do that I can't fucking do anything that I need to do.  Thank god Bruce left because if he hung around over my shoulder for two more seconds I was going to punch him.

I guess I should be glad that I'm here alone, but I still hate everything.  And this kid Wayne, with whom I used to work, is coming to work here.  And I'm not sure how I feel about that.  But whatever.  I hate everything.

Man, I was going to tell you that this totally didn't help, but actually, it kind of did. That one on the right is pretty damn cute.

So, thanks, Erin!

I've never seen that movie!

I do have a recipe for rabbit, though. But I never see rabbit at Super G.

the movie is good, but the rabbit part skeeves me.

i've eaten rabbit before, fresh from the backyard. it was kinda gamey. better than squirrel, though.

man, i just realized that when i was a kid, we grew our own fruits & vegetables & ate local wildlife. wow. you don't need to be jeff foxworthy to read the writing on that wall. all we needed was a liquor still...

you can buy Rabbit in the Italian Market. And they serve it at Monks - Manning had it there, and I had a bite and felt guilty for DAYS. I just don't think of rabbits as food. It's a cute little pet!

I think all animals are cute! If I only ate animals that I didn't think were cute, I would eat only bugs!

Cool, Italian Market, maybe one day I will do that! Thanks for the tip!

Re: microbes
Man, that giant microbes page was one of my bookmarks!! If Hippie Jim hadn't helped me to recover my bookmarks, that would have made me even MORE upset!

But he did, and I have them back, so giants microbes are okay. Thanks.

Re: microbes
so, for future reference, do you know what happened? and how to fix it?

Re: microbes
Not . . . really.

See, what happened was, Firefox got stuck, so I closed it and opened again. But there must have been one running somewhere (I checked Task Manager and Processes, but I didn't see it anywhere), so when I tried to open Firefox it was like "pick a profile!" and I said "I want my profile!" and it said "that is already in use!" and I said "no it isn't!" but it didn't listen to me.

So I was impatient and created a new profile, but in my haste I allowed it to be called "Default User" (which was stupid) and also left unchecked th box that said "prompt for profile at startup" (which was also stupid).

In order to get my profile back, I had to use the Profile Manager, which for some reason is only accessed by typing something into the Run command line -- but every time I tried to do that, it simply opened another Firefox window. Hippie told me that Firefox needed to be closed when I did it, so I closed Firefox and typed what I needed to type, and then the Profile Manager opened and I was able to choose the proper profile and hooray forever.

Now I'm going to go save my bookmarks somewhere. My apologies for the long and boring explanation.

Firefox's bookmarks are all stored as an HTML file on your system. Search your system for "bookmarks.html", and when it's done, check out each file that it finds. Chances are that one of them will do it for you.

More advanced-like, open up Explorer (START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > EXPLORER), then browse to C:\Documents and Settings\(your login name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.own. There should be a bookmarks.html file there.

I got into the correct profile, so everything is fixed now! Phew.

But man, before I was given the solution, I did indeed search for bookmarks.html, and do you know that a whole bunch came up, but they were ALL very old! So I don't know where my current one is hiding, but it's back now and I'm happy, and too lazy to find out.

But thanks for the advice, man!
