Hi.  What did you do this weekend?  I watched the season premiere of Enterprise (twice) and the presidential debate (people have been telling me that Bush did WORSE in the first one -- is that possible?  I can't believe anyone in their right mind would vote for that man (though Kerry wasn't so hot himself, I wish I liked him more)) and I saw The Slip and Robert Walters at the TLA.  I bought material for my Halloween costume, and the book Claudius the God, and four milk crates (on sale at BB&B for $2.50 apiece). I took an entire roll of Holga film at The House AND dropped it off at the mall to be developed. I finished putting away my laundry, and hung up two milk crates, and slept in my own bed.  And I updated my Photo du Jour for the first time in two weeks, and I posted some photos that Michelle left on my computer.

The photos are from our camping trip of late August.  Here are two; click them if you'd like to see the rest.

Oh and also I watched football, duh.

Ehhhh, it was okay. I didn't watch season 2, or the second half of season 1, so the whole Temporal Cold War thing is kind of fuzzy in my head and I'm not enthusiastic about it. I just want them to get it over with so that we can get on with Dr. Soong and VULCAN, man, Vulcan. I am seriously excited for this season, which is neat because I've never had the opportunity to be excited about a Star Trek series as it was happening. I hope it's as good as they're promising.

You wanna recap?

You askin'?

Okay, wait, Dr.Soong and Vulcan? Did they specifically mention Dr.Soong or something? And is something up with T'Pal? I'M BAFFLED!

Also, Dr.SOONG! HAhahaha.

Man, Spiner is on the week after next! He's Soong's . . . grandfather or something! He is bumming around space with a bunch of genetically engineered supermen a la Khan! Oh shit, I forgot to mention, *Spoiler Alert*.

And Vulcan, I am SO SERIOUSLY EXCITED about what they are planning for Vulcan, I hope they don't fuck it up. I try not to read too many spoilers, but I know the basics, and . . . I'll let it be a surprise for you. But it involves Vulcan on a grand scale, not just T'Pol. Mmmmph!

Okay, so . . . they are indeed in 1944, in an alternate timeline. Nazis have taken the northeast US, including Washington. Daniels brought the Enterprise to the past, because the Temporal Cold War is now a full-on war. The aliens who are working with the Nazis (they showed us two, though Archer's mafia friends shot one of them) are temporal agents, working for . . . shit. I forget his name, but some dude. Said dude figured out a way to travel back in time without being detected, but the catch is that once there, you have to build a "conduit" to get back. And since they're in 1944 and technology ain't so hot, the aliens have to build a he-uge "conduit" using expensive materials (it's wartime, remember). This should theoretically be easy to find, and Archer has to find it, sez Daniels.

Archer got his mafia friends (including Tony Soprano's brother-in-law, but that's neither here nor there) to introduce him to one of the aliens -- that's where he got most of the poop I just gave you. He also took the guy's communicator, which he used to contact the Enterprise. He had them beam himself and his hot black colored Florence Nightengale up to the ship, to escape a gunfight (they were about to be captured by alien #2).

That Suliban guy, Sullik or whomever, had been on the Enterprise. He stole a shuttle and went down to earth, but he saved Tucker in that he made sure wouldn't be sucked out of the shuttle bay, so that was weird. Oh and I think that Trip and . . . somebody were captured by Nazis at the end. I don't remember if it was Merriweather or the British guy.

I think that's the important stuff. Man, though, when Archer came back, it was pretty nice. He immediately took charge, and when T'Pol saw him she just gave him this look, like she was so happy to see him but you know, like a Vulcan would, and it was so sweet it broke my heart. Both times.

Oh and Daniels died, I think. He was all fizznucked up with some parts being 200 years old and some parts being 30 years old etc etc. Apparently this happened to him as he was traveling through time to the Enterprise, because the dude who is fucking with time has made everything muddied and whatnot.

Oh and one part that bugged me was that Archer never asked his hostess HOW the Nazis took the US. I mean it's an alternate timeline, shouldn't you be trying to figure out WHAT is alternate about it?
