I am not good at my job.

I'm okay at being an engineer, but I'm a terrible project manager. Bruce was actually really nice about it, pointing out what I did wrong. I couldn't do anything but just stare at the plans with my head in my hands.

I'll be okay, I just need to try harder.

Man, also? This morning I shifted in my chair and a part of my butt felt cool and I thought "oh no did I spill something?" but an investigation showed that I have a hole in my jeans! In the BUTT! Damn you Old Navy!!! Their jeans are so cheap, but they are also so CHEAP! They never last longer than a year and a half.

So to show that I've learned my lesson, I'm going to drive up to Old Navy on my lunch break and buy another pair.

Happy birthday Mitch! Happy birthday Culann! Happy birthday Ford! Happy birthday Wil Wheaton!

I didn't get any of you fuckers anything. But I hope you have a lovely day.

Good luck with the project manager thing. I've been in that spot many times and it can really be a pain in the arse.

At some point in my life half my clothes developed the Old Navy tag. You're right that they're so cheap and cheap. I've also managed to avoid buying any Old Navy stuff that actually says 'Old Navy' on the outside ... so no one knows!

Kelly and I were just discussing this at dinner on Wednesday. All the jeans fall apart, and the shirts -- while cute and cheap at purchase -- they SHRINK, but they shrink, like, UP, and then fit funny. And so I try to get a size larger, but that doesn't work, and it never fits right either.

But the jeans are cute before they fall apart! And the flip flops and purses and skirts are great!

I wish there were an H&M closer to where I live.

What's ... ah, what's H&M?

It's a clothing store. Prices are cheap, but the stuff doesn't seem as cheaply made (and is more interesting than Old Navy, which is good for nothing but basics.) It's been in Europe forever, just came over to the States a couple years ago.

Tami and Manning love it.

Then I hate it.

I've had less love for H&M recently, since the Hipster fashions came in to style and almost everything they sell is FUGLY. also, I've discovered Zara. at least in Paris, Zara has WAY more selection, way less trendy stuff, and better prices.

Wow - my friend Elissa who is French but lives in LA came to New York to stay with me and she raved about H&M and Zara too which apparently has stores in NY as well.
Her enthusiasm was so great that I vowed to shop at either stores should i ever actually have the cash to buy clothes!

By the Way, Hi. Im Rach.
Daves friend.

is that what the fuck it stands for? pretty much all my clothes are from there.

I bought my first Old Navy clothes this year cause my mom got me a $100 gift certificate. I love their jeans but all their tops totally suck. I bought this wrap shirt I thought I could wear and when I got home I couldn't figure out how to put the darn thing on! I bought it on clearance too... I still have $35 dollars left on the gc. Still they're better than Express which used to be good now completely and utterly suck.

Also: happy birthday Benito Mussolini, Clara Bow and Elizabeth Short!!
Thanks dear!

Also, once at work the entire back of my pants split (they weren't Old Navy, but they were nearly 6 years old), like an 8-inch hole, between my back pockets. I didn't even notice, although in retrospect there was a slight chilliness on my ass, but mordicai, compassionate soul that he is, gave me a heads up. I sent him out to buy me pants. What he brought back was black and didn't fit well, but I was grateful nonetheless.

Also, not good at my job
im supposed to be a musician - which im okay at but i cant seem to get my shit together to do any recording and any excuse will do at the moment.
Currently its that I think my roommate hates me since i did a Dumb Thing and i cant play properly if shes in there listening to my mistakes.

But if youre trying harder - I will too.

Your solution is simple: Go to Bolivia. Buy a village. Tell them to get sewing. Make your own jeans.

Ford Fairlane? Ford Prefect? or someone else named after a model of automobile?
Jul. 29th, 2005 09:12 pm (UTC)

I don't think that's his real name, though! I think it is a fake internet name.

Project management can be a real bear, I've done enough over time to know. I can recommend some books if you are interested.

Old Navy Khakis rule and hold up really, really well for me. The jeans are ok for me, but I get the extra wide leg versions.
