So my birthday's coming up, next Tuesday to be precise, and you know what you should get me? A fucking case of film because I'm going to buy myself a sweet camera, and take eight million billion pictures, I mean it this time.
And I'm going to use it! I'm not going to get discouraged by people who can take pictures better than I can. I'm not going to be shy about whipping the thing out and taking pictures. I will use it so much it will be UBIQUITOUS, people WON'T EVEN NOTICE after a while. I bought that stupid video camera and used it, like, once. What a waste of money. Maybe I should try to sell it on eBay . . . but no, it's good to have one around, I guess. But freshman year when my parents bought me a nice yet automatic camera, I used it all the time and took loads of pictures -- my theory was that if I took a hundred pictures, twenty would be grand, at least -- but I've drifted off since then. So I'm going to buy myself a nice, good SLR. My parents already got me a dining room table for my birthday, but my grandparents will possibly give me some money, so I'll use that and my own credit card (o how I love and simultaneously hate credit cards). Vinnie said his Nikon was only like $200. I'll do research, find the exact camera I want. I may even buy it at a camera store. And then I'll ask Kelly and/or Henky and they'll teach me some basics, or maybe I'll even see about taking a course at the community college near my house. And I will create art! Not the best the world has ever seen, but good art nonetheless! I will be contributing to the beauty of the world.
I have this theory on what "art" is, but I never find enough time to write about it.
